“Space Available” app mock-up

One of our military benefits is using Space-Aviable, or Space-A for short. Space-A is similar to signing up for a standby flight, but it is free, and you fly on a military aircraft if space is available during missions. To sign up for a Space-A flight, you would go to the passenger terminal on base and check out the flying schedule. The purpose of my app is to save time by not having to go to the passenger terminal in person or visit the dated website. Not everyone uses Facebook, so this would be a standalone app to see the flying schedule.

Just like the actual flying schedule, you will only be able to see three days out. The carousel will show the upcoming departures from your “port of debarkation.”  The app would have links to the most current defense travel regulations to ensure you have all your proper documents and passport information.

Design-wise, I stayed with Android’s Roboto font to maintain the operating system's design continuity. I also decided to make the layout high-contrast because Space-A is mainly used by retirees. Many seniors may have vision issues, so I believe this design decision would make the app easier to read and navigate.
